Prefixly

Setup guide

Turn on Prefixly in a few minutes

Prefixly won’t block anything until you enable its extension in iOS Settings. Here’s the whole flow.

The one step people miss: a Call Directory app can only block calls after you switch it on under Settings → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification. Step 4 below covers exactly that.
1

Install & open Prefixly

Download Prefixly from the App Store and open it once. Launching the app registers its blocking extension with iOS so it can appear in Settings.

2

Add a number or prefix to block

Tap +, choose the country (it defaults to your region), then enter a full number to block one caller — or fewer digits to block an entire range that starts with them.

Prefixly shows exactly how many numbers a prefix covers before you add it.

3

Open the iOS Settings app

Leave Prefixly and open Apple’s Settings app, then follow this path:

⚙︎ Settings Phone Call Blocking & Identification

On some iPhones this lives under Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification.

4

Switch Prefixly on

In the list of call-blocking apps, turn on Prefixly:

Prefixly ON

iOS may take a few seconds to load your block list the first time. If Prefixly isn’t in the list, open the app once more, then come back to this screen.

5

Apply changes

Return to Prefixly and tap Apply Changes so iOS picks up your latest list. Do this any time you add, remove, or toggle a prefix.

6

Confirm you’re protected

The status banner should read Protection Active with a green shield. In the Diagnostics section you should see ran=YES and dataFound=YES.

That’s it — matching calls are now silenced automatically and labelled on the incoming-call screen.

If something’s off

Quick fixes

Prefixly isn’t in the blocking list. Open the app once so iOS registers the extension, then reopen Settings → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification.
Calls still get through. Confirm the toggle is on, tap Apply Changes in the app, and check Diagnostics show ran=YES. As a reset, toggle Prefixly off and on again in Settings.
Want to silence every unknown caller too? Enable Apple’s built-in Settings → Phone → Silence Unknown Callers alongside Prefixly.
