01 Overview
Prefixly is a call-blocking app for iPhone. It is designed around a simple principle: your information stays with you. Prefixly does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers — in the app or on this website.
02 Data we collect
None. Prefixly does not gather personal information. It does not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, or location. It has no sign-up and no login.
03 Your block list
The country codes and number prefixes you choose to block are stored only on your device (and in your device’s encrypted iCloud backup, if you have backups enabled). They are shared exclusively between the Prefixly app and its on-device call-blocking extension, using an Apple App Group container.
This information is never sent to us or to any third party. Deleting the app removes the block list from your device.
04 Phone calls & CallKit
Prefixly blocks and labels calls using Apple’s CallKit Call Directory framework. The matching and blocking happen entirely within iOS on your device. Prefixly cannot see your call history, cannot read the content of any call, and is not notified which calls were blocked. It only knows the prefixes you entered.
05 Permissions
Prefixly asks you to enable its call-blocking extension in Settings → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification. This permission lets iOS apply your block list to incoming calls. It does not grant Prefixly access to your contacts, microphone, or call records.
06 Third parties
Prefixly contains no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics services. This website is fully self-hosted and loads no external scripts, fonts, or tracking pixels, so no third party receives your IP address or browsing activity when you visit.
07 International users (GDPR, CCPA & others)
Prefixly is available worldwide. Privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA in California grant rights over personal data that companies hold about you — for example, the right to access, correct, or delete it.
Because Prefixly processes no personal data and holds none on any server, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, delete, or transfer. Your data stays under your control on your own device at all times. You can erase everything Prefixly stores by deleting the app.
08 Children
Prefixly does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). As no personal data is collected from any user, the app is safe for all ages.
09 Security
Your block list never leaves your device, so it is protected by your iPhone’s own hardware encryption and passcode. There is no account to be breached and no server database that could be compromised.
10 Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected in an app update where appropriate.
